These terms cover buying and using Stop That — both the Mac app (a one-time license) and the iPhone app (an auto-renewing App Store subscription). By installing or using either app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The Mac app has a money-back guarantee; the iPhone subscription is billed and refunded by Apple, as explained below.
Who we are
Stop That is provided by Daniel Keen, trading as Stop That, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].
Your Mac license
When you buy the Stop That Mac app, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use the app on a Mac you own or control. One license covers one device. The license lasts for the life of the product and is not a subscription. (The iPhone app is a separate, subscription product — see The iPhone subscription below.)
You agree not to:
- Resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the app or your license key.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices.
What the Mac app does, and what it will not do
Stop That watches your active app and, where permitted, the active browser tab, and responds with a cursor bubble, optional voice prompts, and Teleport to Work, which activates a productive app you choose. You decide which apps and sites count as “bad” and where Teleport sends you.
By design, the app keeps you in control. It does not:
- Disable your keyboard or block app switching at the operating-system level.
- Move or hijack your pointer, or cover the screen with a window you cannot close.
- Trap the menu bar. Quit and the panic hotkey are always reachable.
You are responsible for the targets and settings you configure and for using the app in a way that suits your own work and environment.
Mac app: price and payment
The Stop That Mac app is a one-time purchase of $29 for a lifetime license on one Mac. Prices are shown before checkout and may change for new purchases. Payment is processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe); your purchase is also subject to their terms. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to you.
Mac app: refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on the Mac app. If you are not happy with it, email [email protected] within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full, no questions asked. (Refunds for the iPhone subscription are handled by Apple — see below.)
The iPhone subscription
The Stop That app for iPhone is a separate product, sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple’s App Store. It uses Apple’s Screen Time controls to heckle and then block the apps you choose, so that continued access requires an active subscription.
Plans and price. Two plans are offered: $7.99 per week or $49.99 per year. There is no free trial. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, may differ by region and currency, and may change for future billing periods (Apple will tell you before any price increase takes effect).
Billing and auto-renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews at the same price for the same period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
Managing and cancelling. You manage or cancel the subscription in your device’s Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
Restore. If you reinstall the app or move to a new device signed in with the same Apple ID, use Restore Purchases in the app to re-activate an existing subscription.
Refunds. The subscription is sold and billed by Apple, so all refunds are handled by Apple under its standard policy, not by us. Request one through Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or your App Store account.
If your subscription lapses. When a subscription ends or is not renewed, Stop That stops enforcing blocks — it never leaves your phone locked down because a payment did not go through. Stop Everything in the app also lifts every block and stops all monitoring at any time — by default after a short typed confession, so the way out always exists even if it makes you type for it.
Updates
We may release updates that fix issues, improve the app, or add features, and we intend to provide them to existing license holders at no extra cost. We do not promise any specific future feature or an indefinite update schedule.

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app evolves. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to their conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes any statutory consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence, and your App Store purchase remains subject to Apple’s terms.
